How I score 9A'S for my SPM 2021

HOW I SCORE MY SPM #exam_edition

10 JUNE 2021 - SPM RESULT RELEASE DATE !!!

Truthfully, I couldn't sleep at all that night. My god, the adrenaline rush is so nerve wrecking. I still remember every second of the morning of 10 June vividly. Thanks ALLAH, for this greatest gift you had bless upon this slave. I am no genius or any gifted students. I struggled the most during my SPM years. Tears and blood, as well as many major breakdown and self-loathe are my very bestfriends all through 2020 to 2021. It is not an easy journey I tell you.

However, the moment I laid my eyes on my result, the consecutive As made me forget all the pain and suffering that I had to go through before. That day, my SPM slips is the most priceless treasure I ever had. HAHAHAHA, so drama.

So, back to reality, I am truly an average student! Seriously! A lot of my juniors asked me how I managed to score all As in SPM if I am just an average student. Hellooo..? Just because I am an average student, doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to get all As. Let me prove it to you okay! Here my result for SPMRSM (a graduate exam for MARA student that is equivalent to SPM trial exam) compared to my SPM result

SLIP SPM!!! alhamdulillah 9A

So..? How an average student like me managed to get this kind of result? Well I am going to share it with you guys how I do it. But let you be warned, This is no study tips, this is more like SPM hacks. I don't have any study tips that is worthy enough to be shared. If you want study tips, then I recommend to search at Youtube. Here you go...

1

First thing first, I make my own reference notes which I can rely on. I hate textbook and I especially hate notebook. I hate takings note as I have no artistic talents. So, I find all the reliable good notes and complied it into one. These notes must be complete and good enough to be your SPM reference. So, no thicker heavy books to read. Oooh, by making, I didn’t mean that I made all of this by my own. Mostly, this is from my exercise books and reference books. I just photostat all the notes part only. For chemistry, thanks god my teacher is such an angel, her lecturer notes are the best as it is already simple.

Know your exam’s format, tips and tricks by heart. You must know what will reduce your marks, what kind of answer must you give so that you won’t get penalty, how to tackle the questions, the marking scheme and etc. Those cheap trick will be your guideline during exams. For me, when I encounter a question that I know I had no hope with, instead of trying to solve it, I just wrote anything that come to my mind, any steps that might get some marks. It must be related to the question of course. And I always try to be as detailed as possible. Most importantly, I make sure that I never leave any blank space no matter how desperate I am. Big No!!!

Do lots of past years questions. This definitely help me a lot. SPM is not an exam that have pattern like A-level but yeah, the level of hardness is basically the same. Some people do the questions to enhance their understandings. As for me, my motive is slightly different. I do the past years to familiarize myself with the formats and strict marking scheme. I study the question with the answers because I want to learn how to properly answers the question. HAHAHAHA. I am not that smart to answer those KBAT question with only my knowledge. You need to know your capabilities.

While doing the questions, you might stumble upon questions that is very hard for you but actually quite simple to solve. Feeling dejected is okay, but don't dwell in it for too long. I always tell myself that if I can challenge myself to solve any hard questions, then maybe I am a genius. HAHAHAHA. I am not a genius, it just something to motivate myself.

Seek help and build good relationship with teachers. If you have a teacher who had experienced in SPM, that is so much better. Always refer to your teacher if you have problems with your study. Always seek help. Teachers, they are the expert when it comes to exam’s format and tricks. They know but in classes, they rarely mentioned it, and if they did, it is usually very subtle. As a student who finds it hard to focus, this is so frustrating. So, one to one session with teachers are so helpful for me as I can dig more information and digest it properly.

Throw away your pride and your embarrassment. It is so not worth it. Are you willing to bet your future just because you are shy and scared. Be brave and be strong. As long as what you are doing is not wrong, then you have nothing to be ashamed of. And let me tell ya, if it is still so hard for you, then remember than once you finish your SPM, you will never see you teachers anymore, so, endure it just for another one years!!

Study. No backdoors peep. SPM is as crazy as it can get. The only way to confront it is to study. No buts, ifs and or. This is the foundation. However, there is no specific ways of studying. You need to find your own ways. Use tries and error method. And always be positive. If you study until late at night every day and still got C for mathematics, maybe you need to study early in the morning. If you study hard last minute and you only get D, what score you might get if you study properly? I bet it is an A.

Don’t ever compare yourself with others. You must always look only at yourself. If you study for 5 hours a day and still get E while your friends who always sleeps in class got an A, maybe you need to study 10 hours a day to get the same results as your friends. People only see the results; they often turn a blind eye on the hardships. But for me, I work and works until my results speaks of my hardships.

So that its. Five simple way to get all A’s in SPM. It may not be applicable to everyone but I do hope that this will open your eyes. There is always hope even if you are in the lowest point of your life. Keep striving, keep believing and Insya-allah, it will be yours.
